Judo First.
Jiu-Jitsu Forever.

I started Judo at 7 years old and spent the next decade on the mat before I’d ever heard of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

I picked up BJJ just before turning 18, originally just to sharpen my Judo. It became the thing I’ve spent my life on since.

Today I’m a 3nd-degree BJJ black belt under Professor Jorge Britto (lineage: Mitsuyo Maeda > Carlos Gracie > Helio Gracie > Royler Gracie > Jorge Britto > Dainis Nguyen-Huu) and a Judo black belt certified through Judo Canada (2008).

I’m a Head Coach at the DNA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Whitby, Ontario.

I love sharing my knowledge, both offline – with my students, on seminars, camps and retreats – as well as online, on my Instagram and YouTube channels.

Here’s a brief look at my competition record:

  • 21x IBJJF Open Champion

  • 2x IBJJF World Masters Medalist

  • 6x Canada National Pro Champion

  • 8x OJA Provincial Champion (Gi/No-Gi)
